St John's is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church of Australia. Lutheranism is the original and largest protestant denomination in the world, numbering over 60 million adherents, and began as a reforming movement within the Christian Church in the 1500's. We continue to affirm Christ as the centre of our church, the bible as the source of all church doctrine, and the role of clergy and all God's people in God's mission in the world. Lutheran worship services centre on hearing Scripture read and proclaimed, and the celebration of the Holy Communion in a traditional yet contemporary form of liturgy.
