St John’s Community Kindergarten at Eight Mile PLains was opened on the 20th May 1973 and has provided quality Christian education to the community for the past 34 years.

We aim to create an environment where families are respected and where open communication is valued. staff work together as a team to provide meaningful and appropriate learning experiences which stimulate learning and independence.

The staff value children’s ideas, listen to them, engage them in high level of thinking drawing on these ideas and encourage them in their efforts.

We aim to create a play-based environment that is happy and positive and where a child is given the opportunity to reach their maximum potential in all areas of development – spiritual, physical, intellectual, social and emotional.

We aim to provide resources that extend each child’s imagination and their need to be actively involved in their learning. Different cultures are reflected within the program with the use of multicultural resources.
