‘CREATE IN ME’

From Service with Communion

Create in me a clean heart, O God,

      and put a new and right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from your presence,

      and take not your Holy Spirit from me.

Restore to me the joy of your salvation,

      and uphold me with a willing spirit.

‘CREATE IN ME’

‘WHAT CAN I OFFER’

From Service without Communion

1  What can I offer to the Lord

       for all his göodness to me?

2  I will lift up the cup of salvation,

       and call on the näme of the Lord.

3  I will offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving,

       and call on the näme of the Lord.

4  I will keep my promises to the Lord

       in the presence of äll his people;

5  in the courts of the house of the Lord,

       in your midst, O Jerüsalem.

‘WHAT SHALL I RENDER’

3        I will take the cup of salvation

       and will call on the name of the Lord.

4  I will pay my vows to the Lord

       now in the presence of all his people,

5  in the courts of the Lord’s house,

       in the midst of you, O Jerusalem.

‘THE SACRIFICE ACCEPTABLE’

From Service without Communion

The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;

      a broken and repentant heart, O God, you will not despise.

In your goodness show fávour to Zion;

      rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.

Then you will be pleased with right sacrifices,

      with burnt offêrings and whole burnt öffêrings        .

‘LET THE VINEYARDS’

From Service — Alternative Form

Let the vineyards be fruitful, Lord,

      and fill to the brim our cup of blessing.

Gather a harvest from the seeds that were sown,

      that we may be fed with the bread of life.

Gather the hopes and the dreams of all:

      unite them with the prayers we offer now.

Grace our table with your presence,

      and give us a foretaste of the feast to come.

PRAYER

From Modern Liturgy — in lines

Let us pray.

Gracious Father, we offer with joy and thanks

what you have first given us –

ourselves, our time, and our possessions –

as signs of your goodness and symbols of our love.

Accept them for the sake of Jesus Christ,

who offered himself for us. Amen.
